Oxygen (O2) is a critical industrial and medical gas that supports a wide range of applications across healthcare, manufacturing, energy, and process industries. Oxygen is produced from atmospheric air through a cryogenic air separation process. Air is compressed, purified to remove moisture and carbon dioxide, and cooled to extremely low temperatures until it liquefies. The liquefied air is then separated by fractional distillation inside a distillation column, where oxygen and nitrogen are isolated based on their different boiling points.
The oxygen-rich fraction is collected and stored as Liquid Oxygen (LOX) in vacuum-insulated cryogenic tanks. Liquid oxygen can either be supplied directly for cryogenic applications or vaporized and compressed for filling high-pressure oxygen cylinders.
